“Illumination”

The night.

Fell upon me.

You breathed life. Giving light.

Imagination. Awareness.

Thank you.

Out of all the other species on Earth, we humans are the only ones that have been blessed with higher mental faculties. This “Illumination” brings us out of the darkness and into the light. It allows us to be aware of our own state of consciousness. It gives us the ability to imagine, to create, and to breathe life into our dreams making it into a reality. 

In this piece I created very subtle clues of this miraculous gift, the gift of “Illumination.”

The five basic senses that we share with the other animals are sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch. You might notice the shape of a deer’s head with two eyes and nose. The deer is a sign of of good fortune in the Asian culture. In other cultures, it can represent kindness, grace, good luck, and your spirit watching over you; guiding you along the way. Our “Illumination” is truly God’s greatest gift which brings us limitless fortune. 

I used soft yellows for “light” coming through from above and into our very being accepting this blessed gift. On the far left the light (the “sixth sense”) is penetrating from within and is illuminating out to the world bringing light to your creation and thus bringing life to your vision. 

There is also a hint of fingers and the presence of a hand. Our hands gives us the ability to sculpt our dreams into anything our imagination can dream of, letting our light shine bright.
